Dental Services > Treatment > Fillings
When a tooth has a “cavity,” the simplest fix is to remove the compromised portion of the tooth and replace it a with “filling” material.
Placement of tooth colored fillings is highly technique sensitive and in order to assure the best result for patients we use special mouthpieces during any “drilling” to prevent soreness/tiredness of jaw muscles and to prevent any debris from being swallowed by the patient. Additionally, this mouthpiece allows us to keep the tooth appropriately dry when bonding the filling for optimal retention
During this appointment, a patient can expect to be provided appropriate anesthetic to “numb” the area requiring treatment. After appropriate anesthesia is achieved, the cavity is removed and a tooth colored material is bonded into its place to fill the void left from removal of the cavity.
